MK Uri Ariel (NU/NRP) slammed Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday for his ministry’s refusal to help cover the cost of reinforced windows for private vehicles belonging to Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. The decision to stop assisting residents who wish to reinforce their windows was made despite the fact that attacks on Israeli drivers have increased dramatically in recent months, and have occasionally resulted in serious injury.
“With one hand the Defense Minister gives weapons to the terrorists known as Palestinian policemen, and with the other he chokes every possibility of minimal protection,” Ariel said. Ariel called on the government to immediately make money available to cover the cost of protecting Jews in Judea and Samaria.
