(IsraelNN.com) The Police Department's Internal Investigation Unit (Mahash) has recommended that the former Commander of Amakim District, Commander Ya'akov Zigdon, be charged with conspiracy to bribe and breach of trust.

Ynet reported that the investigation, which took more than a year to complete, has concluded, and the file has been transferred to the State Attorney's office in Haifa, which will decide whether to press charges.

Zigdon became a suspect after the police's National Unit for Fraud Investigations wiretapped the phone of a Shas functionary from Haifa who suspected of bribing the Rabbinical Court there.
