(IsraelNN.com) A new system being developed for use along the Gaza security barrier will allow soldiers to fire on terrorists using remote-controlled equipment, according to Yediot Acharonot.  Once the system is operational, soldiers will be able to view and respond to terrorist threats along the barrier while stationed in an operations room.

IDF officials said the system would only be used when necessary to protect soldiers.  Soldiers will be able to distinguish terrorists from civilians, they said.  The system will not replace soldiers on the ground.
