IDF Manpower Chief Elazar Stern spoke at a conference in Kfar HaMaccabia on Monday afternoon.  Stern called on high schools to push teenaged girls to enlist in the IDF like their male counterparts.

Stern spoke of a recent visit to a high school in which he criticized school officials for failing to prevent girls from avoiding enlistment for religious reasons.  “I asked them, ‘About 10 percent of the girls here told the enlistment offices that they are religious.  Why doesn’t the school do anything about that?’” Stern told the audience.
