For the first time, top doctors in the area of autism will gather in Israel for a medical conference on ways to prevent and treat the disease in children. Among those participating in the conference, sponsored by Bar Ilan University, will be two of the world's top experts on autism, Professor Colwyn Trevarthen of England and Professor Laurent Danon Boileau of France.

Among the topics to be discussed at the conference, to be held in Rosh Pina, will be the use of language and non-verbal signals in diagnosing and treating autism. Specifically, research will be presented on how communications between mothers and children can be used in autism diagnosis and therapy.
