Hamas: Egypt Using Poison Gas in Smuggling Tunnels
(IsraelNN.com) A Gaza Arab terrorist was apparently crushed to death when an underground smuggling tunnel between Sinai and Gaza collapsed Friday. Five terrorists were in the tunnel when it collapsed, and Egyptian soldiers were able to extricate four from the tunnel. The fifth was pulled out Saturday, found to have been killed.
Hamas accused Egypt of releasing poison gas into the tunnels, used by Gaza Arab terrorists to bring in weapons and ammunition to be used against Israel. Hamas quoted witnesses as saying that smoke was seen at the entrance to the tunnel, indicating that poison gas had been pumped inside. An Egyptian official called the Hamas complaint “nonsense,” and said that the smoke was probably the result of explosives used by the terrorists to build the tunnel.
