(IsraelNN.com) The Ministerial Committee for ceremonies and symbols decided that the 2006 conflict in the North be named the Second Lebanon War. The committees decided between three competing names--The War of the North, Operation Northern Shield and the name that was chosen.

--The Knesset voted to approve the new round of ministerial appointments. Minister Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) is now Welfare Minister and Minister Raleb Majadle (Labor) is the Minister of Science, Culture and Sport. In addition, the Knesset approved the appointment of MK Yitzhak Aharonovich (Yisrael Beiteinu) to Minister of Tourism, in place of Herzog.
