MK Porush Asks to Consider Large Families

(IsraelNN.com) MK Rabbi Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) sent a letter to Minister of National Infrastructures Binyamin Ben-Eliezer on Thursday asking him to take large families into account when considering proposals to limit water use.  One proposal calls for each family to receive a set amount of water at a low price, while additional water use will be taxed at increasing rates.

Porush called on Ben-Eliezer to consider the fact that families with many children would need a larger amount of water than others, even if they took care to conserve whenever possible.  He asked Ben-Eliezer to keep poor families in mind as well, and to grant them a lower rate in order to assist them in gaining a better financial standing.
