Israel and Russia will sign an agreement on Thursday night that will allow citizens of both countries to visit the other with no need for a visa.  Israeli officials have expressed hope that the move will boost Russian tourism.

Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit said he was satisfied with the measure.  Sheetrit opposed an earlier measure that called on Israel to allow Russian citizens to visit without visas, while Israelis would have been required to obtain visas before traveling to Russia.
