The IDF Monday opened up Gaza crossings again to allow 147 trucks through the Kerem Shalom, Sufa and Karni crossings with humanitarian aid. The Palestinian Authority and the international community have complained that Israel has kept the borders closed and rarely have noted the humanitarian aid shipments. Israel has otherwise kept the borders closed because of numerous attempts to smuggle explosives and weapons disguised as food.
Monday's shipments included 55 trucks at the Sufa crossing with meat, fruit, sugar, diapers, flour, peas, oil, carrot, coffee, fish, rice, garlic. At Karni, 64 trucks brought similar foods, and medication, blankets, diapers, toilet paper and 20 other trucks with food donated by Egypt were shipped through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
