The Tourism Ministry has opened up a French-language website aimed at Canada's French-speaking community, most of which is located in the province of Quebec. The site targets French-speaking Canadians of all ages and social backgrounds, the ministry said. It will include information on Israel's history and geography as well as current tourist attractions.
The ministry already operates an English web site for Canada, which has a large minority of French-speakers. "We can now confidently and electronically bring a bit of Israel into every Canadian home, school, office, synagogue and church in both official languages," said Oded Grofman, Israel's consul for tourism in Canada.
