Police disclosed they arrested three minor teenagers from the community of Itamar who stole weapons and grenades for the town's weapons storage room. A court accepted the youth's explanation that their stealing the rifles, cartridges and grenades were not meant for any kind of attack on Arabs. They were released to their homes.

However, Israeli media linked the arrest with a continuing campaign against the Merkaz HaRav yeshiva and the national religious camp, which has been condemned for alleged incitement. The latest criticism came from Voice of Israel government radio's early evening news program which criticized the yeshiva for not allowing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to visit.
