Egypt is mediating a deal between Israel and Hamas that would return control of the Egyptian border in Rafiah to the Palestinian Authority, according to Haaretz. PA forces would also be stationed at crossings between Gaza and the western Negev, such as Sufa, Erez, and Kerem Shalom.
According to PA sources quoted in the report, the PA has already agreed to man the crossings. Hamas representatives will meet with Egyptian mediators later in the week to discuss the proposal.
