More Radio Incitement against National Religious

Voice of Israel government radio Tuesday morning continued its campaign of incitement against the Merkaz HaRav Yeshiva and the national religious camp. Anchor Aryeh Golan, following the lead of three other broadcasters on Monday, compared statements against Yitzhak Rabin, before he was murdered, with the unruly behavior Sunday against Education Minister Yuli Tamir (Labor), who made an unannounced visit to the yeshiva.

Golan asked interviewee Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer if he saw the connection, and the minister willingly answered, "I remember those days" and added, "The national religious camp must not be allowed to run wild."

The radio network also reported that Defense Minister Ehud Barak visited the yeshiva on Monday but did not note there were no incidents and that the visit was coordinated, unlike Tamir's appearance. No mention was made that it is not known if those who ridiculed Tamir and threw water bottles at her were students at the yeshiva.
