Last year's speaking invitation to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad by Columbia University president Lee Bollinger has sparked a worldwide demand for Purim masks for the two men. One university group said it plans a Purim party featuring the masks. Requests for the masks have come from as far away as the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Ahmadinejad spoke at the university last September, sparking a fierce controversy on the issue of freedom of speech and incitement of terrorism. "The Ahmadinejad-Bollinger speech was broadcast around the globe and its lasting impact can't be overstated," said a spokeswoman for the Bnai Haman organization, which aims to remind the world of the price of allowing free speech to promoters of terrorism
