      Knesset Rejects Four No-Confidence Measures

The Knesset voted against four no-confidence measures on Monday afternoon.  Every opposition party aside from Meretz supported at least one of the measures.

The hareidi-religious United Torah Judaism (UTJ) party, the NU/NRP, Likud, and Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home) submitted no-confidence measures due to Education Minister Yuli Tamir’s decision to slash funding for religious schools, the government’s failure to stop rocket attacks in the western Negev, and the government’s alleged lack of a clear strategy to fight terrorism.  The Arab parties submitted a no-confidence measure due to allegations of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
