Boim Plans New Housing in Jerusalem

(IsraelNN.com) Minister of Construction and Housing Ze'ev Boim confirmed Monday that he plans to ask Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to approve the construction of a total of 2,000 new housing units in Jerusalem neighborhoods and in cities in Judea and Samaria.  Most of the housing units—550 and 750 respectively—will be built in Givat Zeev and Pisgat Ze'ev in Jerusalem.

Boim will also ask Olmert to approve construction in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa, in Elkana, Maaleh Adumim, Efrat, and Ariel.  The housing in Ariel, if it is permitted, will be sold to Jewish families who were expelled from Netzarim in Gaza in 2005 and who currently live in caravans while waiting for permanent housing.
