(IsraelNN.com) MK Rabbi Michael Melchior, who heads the Knesset's Education Committee, expressed regret Sunday over the insults hurled at Education Minister Yuli Tamir when she visited Mercaz HaRav Kook yeshiva.

"The pain of the terrible crime is shared by the entire Israeli people," Melchior said. "It is too bad that mob behavior directed against the Minister of Education besmirched an important visit."

"This is not the time for incitement and hatred but for finding comfort in respect and togetherness," he added, "even in places where there are differences of opinion."
