TIME: Warning Received before Attack on Yeshiva

Security authorities received a warning of an imminent suicide bombing attack in Jerusalem Thursday before an eastern Jerusalem Arab murdered eight yeshiva students, but there was no clear indication if the warning was connected with the attack, TIME magazine reported. A source told TIME that police received a tip that a suicide bomber was about to enter the capital, and officers fanned out in a frantic search for him, setting up checkpoints on the outskirts of the city. The terrorist who murdered eight students at the yeshiva held an Israeli identity card and was from eastern Jerusalem.

One police officials told the magazine, "Based on the kind of weapons he was carrying, we think he was part of a terrorist cell and that it was a well-organized attack." Voice of Israel government radio reported Friday morning that authorities have found the terrorist's vehicle, which he used to transport people.
