The Central Statistics Bureau announced Thursday that the average salary in Israel rose by two percent in 2007.  The average salary in 2007 was NIS 7,767 a month.

The employees with the highest average salary were those working for the “Mekorot” water company and the Israel Electric Company.  The water and electric company employees headed the list in 2006 as well.
