IDF censors have banned the immediate reporting of exact locations of rocket attacks because the latest missiles are more accurate and contain more destructive warheads than Kassams. Similar orders were issued in the Second Lebanon War after it was discovered that Israeli Arabs were transmitting to Hizbullah terrorists exact locations reported in Israeli and foreign media.
The new censorship orders allow reporting exact locations after a delay in time and only with approval of the IDF. All missile attacks on IDF bases and strategic installations are prohibited from being reported, even after a delay.
The media also have been instructed not to publish advance reports on visits of senior officials to areas under attack.
