The Knesset’s Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee gave initial approval Tuesday to a proposal that would require the Supreme Court to keep official protocols of its sessions. Courts are already required to keep protocols, but the Supreme Court has often failed to do so, explained MK Michael Eitan (Likud), who submitted the proposal.
The law would require the protocols to include questions and comments made by the judges. In addition, the court would be required to allow the prosecution or defense to tape the proceedings unless privacy is required due to special circumstances.
