(IsraelNN.com) Neria resident Moshe Benvenisti, who opened fire at an Arab mob that attacked him near his home Monday, has been released from police custody.

An initial IDF investigation found Benvenisti acted properly, first firing in the air and then at the lower extremeties of one of the attackers. Arabs claimed that the rioter who was shot died, but absconded with the body and have not come forward with any deceased.

Police leaked to Haaretz that they were annoyed by the IDF's announcement of its findings, but according to Honenu, Benvenisti was released due to lack of any police findings against him and hopes the case will soon be closed. Benvenisti is not allowed to leave Israel or discuss the case.
