Yuval Diskin, head of the Shin Bet security agency, told a story during Sunday’s cabinet meeting illustrating the use of purported “civilians” in Gaza fighting. Diskin described how in one incident, an elderly man from Jabalya was seen driving a wagon near a grove of trees. The wagon actually carried a Grad rocket that was later used by terrorists, Diskin said. Security forces have the incident on tape, he said.
IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi told the cabinet that despite media reports based on Hamas sources, roughly 90 percent of the Gaza Arabs killed in the “Warm Winter” operation were terrorists. Approximately 100 Gaza Arabs were killed in fighting, he said.
