(IsraelNN.com) The European Union condemned Israel on Sunday for its counterterrorism attacks in Gaza over the weekend, saying the IDF is using "disproportionate force" to eliminate terrorists who launch rocket attacks against southern Israel.

The EU charged Israel with activities that were "contrary to international law" due to the collateral casualties in the conflict. Approximately 50 terrorists were killed in targeted attacks, but a dozen Gaza civilians were killed as well.

Hamas terrorists also were criticized by the EU for launching rocket attacks against Israeli communities in the western Negev, according to the Associated Press, adding that nothing should be allowed to stop the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
