General Omar Suleiman, who heads Egypt's intelligence services, said Friday he would not be visiting Israel next week, because of the escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hamas.
Suleiman was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Lately, he has held talks with senior Defense Department official Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad.
It is not clear if Suleiman wishes to reschedule his visit or put it off indefinitely.
