Egypt Intelligence Chief Cancels Israel Visit (IsraelNN.com) General Omar Suleiman, who heads Egypt's intelligence services, said Friday he would not be visiting Israel next week, because of the escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hamas. Suleiman was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni. Lately, he has held talks with senior Defense Department official Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad. It is not clear if Suleiman wishes to reschedule his visit or put it off indefinitely. ![]() Sign up to receive the Daily Israel Report by email (Free) © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
