(IsraelNN.com) IDF officials reported Wednesday that senior Tanzim terrorist Ibrahim Masyami, who was killed in an IDF operation in Shechem on Wednesday, had worked to recruit young men to carry out suicide bombings.  Among those he enlisted was Ali Hassan Faraj, who was captured before he could carry out his mission.

Masyami also took part in shooting attacks in the Shechem region, and in a bomb attack on soldiers in September of 2007.  Two soldiers were lightly wounded in the attack.

Masyami’s brother Wael was wounded in the operation that killed Ibrahim.  Wael is a bomb-making expert accused of preparing bombs for use against IDF soldiers in Shechem.  In addition, he was involved in shooting and bomb attacks in the area.
