IDF spokesmen confirmed Wednesday that the army was behind a Gaza strike that killed five Hamas terrorists early on Wednesday morning. The five were killed as they drove near Khan Yunis on their way to a Hamas training base. Among the dead were a senior rocket engineer and a regional rocket squad commander.
IDF officials denied involvement in the death of an Islamic Jihad terrorist in a separate explosion in Gaza early on Wednesday morning. Islamic Jihad claimed that the man was killed in an IAF strike. IDF sources said soldiers saw a man approaching the Gaza security barrier and then witnessed an explosion. The terrorist was apparently killed when explosives he was carrying detonated prematurely, they said.
