Military spokesmen said that the IDF counter-terrorist operation in Shechem Wednesday morning was aimed at a terrorist cell that was planning to stage an attack on Israel. Arab sources said that at least one terrorist was killed and four were arrested.
The undercover operation was carried out after soldiers from an elite unit entered the city in a minibus and opened fire on terrorists who were inside a taxicab. The soldiers have concluded the operation and have left the city without suffering injuries.
