Professor Norman Finkelstein, who quit his position at an Illinois university last year after his tenure was cancelled, told Lebanese television that he backs the Hizbullah terrorist organization. "I have no problem saying that I do want to express solidarity with them," he stated. "I don't care about Hizbullah as a political organization. I don't know much about their politics and anyhow, it's irrelevant."
The United States has outlawed Hizbullah as a terrorist organization and Finkelstein is liable to be arrested if terrorists use his name to raise funds, said Richard Miniter, a terrorism analyst with the Hudson Institute.
