U.S. Court: Iran To Pay $33 Million to Terror Victim

An American federal court judge ruled Monday that Iran is responsible for the 1992 terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Argentina and must pay $33 million in damages to the family of one of the victims. Americans are not allowed to sue foreign nations unless the countries, including Iran, sponsor terrorism.

The widow of David Ben Rafael, an American who moved to Israel, and his father and children won the lawsuit for the death of Ben Rafael and the pain and suffering to the family. It can obtain the money by trying to freeze Iranian assets, a process that will be difficult.
