Foreign Ministry officials reported Monday that Israel had sent a planeload of aid to Kenya.  The aid package includes three tons of medical equipment.  Kenyan hospitals have faced shortages due to the large number of people wounded in recent riots. 

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee contributed 800 kilograms of equipment.  The aid will be sent to the Israeli embassy in Nairobi, which will distribute it to three Kenyan hospitals.
