MK Meir Porush (UTJ) warned the supporters of an "evacuation-compensation" law being peddled by Vice Prime Minister Chaim Ramon that it will be defeated by "a surprising margin" if it is brought to a Knesset vote.
Ramon asked Labor party chief Barak to support the bill, in a meeting with activists Saturday evening. Porush wrote Barak a letter in which he informed him that 57 MKs had already signed a statement in which they committed themselves to vote against the law, and others gave an oral commitment to do so.
