The Knesset has passed on first reading a bill that would require the resumption of flights from Kiryat Shmona. The bill, sponsored by Likud Knesset Member Gilad Erdan Kadima MK Ronit Tirosh, passed on a 31-22 vote.
The airport has been closed since the Second Lebanon War because of a dispute between the operators of the airport and the airline. The bill would require the airport operators to allow flights in an out of the northern Galilee city.
