Iran has announced it will set up a new television station in Bolivia, with which it has been increasing ties. Bolivian President Evo Morales said the new station will be "for all of Latin America," according to the Iranian state news agency. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also has proposed investing in Bolivia's gas and oil industry.
The announcement came the day before an American Congressional delegation arrive in Bolivia and warned that the close ties with Iran could cost it an important United States trade agreement. "There is a very high level of concern regarding the activities of Iran in Latin America," said Illinois Republic Jerry Weller.
