(IsraelNN.com) United States Senator Sam Brownback (R-KN) spoke at the Jerusalem Conference on Tuesday and warned that the Palestinian Authority is not capable of controlling the areas it claims for a future PA state.  “The Palestinian Authority has not proven capable of effectively administering the West bank or the Gaza Strip,” he said.

Brownback expressed doubt over the chances of creating a viable PA state.  “If our leaders talk in terms of a 2-state solution,” he said, “it is high time that we start thinking about Jordan as the second state in that equation.”  Brownback called on Israeli leaders to make it clear that Jerusalem will remain under Israeli sovereignty under any future peace deal.
