(IsraelNN.com) Senior IDF officials are concerned over reports that Spain is facing pressure to remove its troops from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), according to the Jerusalem Post.  Six Spanish soldiers were killed in terrorist attacks in southern Lebanon in 2007, and several others were wounded.

The terrorist attacks and the growing political instability in Lebanon could lead to nations reducing their troop commitments in the area, officials said.  The UNIFIL presence in southern Lebanon was increased from 2,000 troops to 13,000 troops following the Second Lebanon War.
