Residents in the north, Jerusalem and Gush Etzion are advised to leave faucets running at night to prevent freezing of water pipes and damage to solar heating systems. The municipality is preparing for the second snowstorm of the year, a relatively rare occurrence.

Unlike the storm two weeks, the snow is expected to be drier and will accumulate more quickly, according to weather forecasters. Mayor Uri Lupolianski has ordered municipal teams to keep over 500 kilometers of emergency routes clear to allow emergency and rescue vehicles to move freely.
