Palestinian Authority (PA) senior negotiator Ahmed Qureai contradicted Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's claim that the PA agreed to take the status of Jerusalem off the negotiating table until the issue of borders and the demand for the immigration of foreign Arabs are solved. The Prime Minister also claimed that the PA is "satisfied" with progress, while PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad the following day said the opposite.
PA negotiator Saeb Erekat noted that the issue of borders cannot be discussed without including Jerusalem. "As far as we are concerned, Jewish neighborhoods like Ramot and Gilo are settlements for all intents and purposes."
