Iraqi Psychiatric Facility May Have Provided Terrorists (IsraelNN.com) The acting director of an Iraqi psychiatric hospital may have provided anti-American Iraqi al-Qaida terrorists with mentally disabled women in order to hide explosives which blew up in two crowded outdoor pet markets on February 1, killing nearly 100 people. The director of the al-Rashad hospital is being investigated for potentially providing al-Qaida with names and patient files, enabling it to select women for the bombing, which was carried out with the help of two women who carried explosives into two pet markets along with cages of birds and other small animals. A joint US-Iraqi investigative force seized the hospital director's computer and files in a raid on Sunday. An anonymous hospital official said the detained man is Dr. Sahi Abub al-Maliki, who had been working as director for two months, in the wake of the murder of his predecessor. Last week, the US military presented videos taken from suspected al-Qaida operatives in Iraq showing terrorists training children - who appear as young as 10 years old - to kidnap and kill. The video included scenes of boys mimicking violence and aggression, as well as organized military training sessions. ![]() Sign up to receive the Daily Israel Report by email (Free) © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
