A Tennessee congressional candidate will not disavow a campaign flier saying the incumbent and the Jews hate Jesus.  According to the Tennessee newspaper Memphis Commercial Appeal, a flier was created by a Reverend George Brooks, stating "Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus."

In an editorial, the newspaper noted that the campaign of Cohen's Democratic primary opponent, Nikki Tinker, would not condemn the flier because she and her staff claim not to have seen it.  The Appeal slammed the flier as "disrespecting the pioneers who have fought for racial parity."  Congressman Cohen represents a region largely populated by African Americans.
