Legislators from Bahrain who were visiting in Gaza refused to leave for Egypt through the Kerem Shalom Crossing because it is under control of the "Israel enemy." They insisted on leaving via Rafiah, where Egypt has sealed the border and barred all movement.

Senior officials of the Bahraini government flew to Cairo to pressure the government into opening the border for the legislators, who were in Gaza on a fact-finding tour.
