British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said he was “extremely concerned” that Israel had slightly reduced the amount of electricity it allowed to flow to Gaza last week. "We believe that such action risks a further deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Gaza without improving the security situation,” Miliband said in a joint statement with UK Development Secretary Douglas Alexander Meretz chairman MK Yossi Beilin, also criticized the power cut to Gaza, saying that it would not solve anything and just make Israel look bad in the rest of the world. Beilin did not comment Saturday night on the attack earlier in the evening in Sderot, in which two youths were seriously injured.

Last week, Israel cut power to Gaza by 5% on one of the four electrical lines that supply Gaza with part of its overall power, with the majority of electricity in Gaza supplied by Egypt.
