A French synagogue has displayed on its wall pictures of kidnapped IDF soldiers Gilad Shalit and a French Columbian abducted by terrorists in the South American country. Shalit's family is from France. The second picture portrays Ingrid Betancourt, a former Columbian presidential candidate, who was taken as a hostage by Marxist terrorists in 2002.
A banner over the portraits proclaims, "Free the hostages" and calls for the release "of both Frenchmen kidnapped and detained by fanatical groups in the name of causes discredited by their practice."
