(IsraelNN.com) Muslims in Britain have brought their message of martyrdom to the Commonwealth, according to The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Sunni Muslim religious clerics taught people in England and Scotland the significance of martyrdom as "pious activity" that is "not a tragedy or difficulty [but] is a great honor." Several preachers from Pakistan and India told parents they should teach their children the importance of becoming martyrs.

The meetings were held in the first 10 days of the Muslim month of Muahrram to mourn the sacrifice of the Muslim Imam Hussein who died in a battle. "There is no such example in the history of the world [as] that for the sake of truth" that Muslims can offer their children for sacrifice, Sunni cleric Ghulam Rabbani Afghani told a gathering at a London area town.
