The government's planning committee has decided to build a monument in Jerusalem in memory of the victims of the September 11, 2001 attack on the Twin Towers in New York City. The Jewish National Fund (JNF) initiated the proposal.
Existing paths will be used as approaches to the monument, to be built on the Valley of Cedar Trees Hills (Emek Alona), next to the new light-railway bridge being built at the western entrance to the capital.
