Hamas has denounced the European Union (EU) for visiting the Middle East this week to discuss opening the Gaza Border, which Egypt closed this week. Hamas terrorists blew up the border barrier two weeks ago, resulting in a flood of residents and terrorists into Egypt. "This is a new plot to keep the blockade on Gaza," said Hamas's spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri. He said that no talks on the border should be held until Israel breaks "its siege" of the area.
The EU has been monitoring the Rafiah border on the Gaza border with Egypt since 2005, when Israel destroyed Jewish communities in the area, expelled the residents and withdrew all military forces. The monitors left the area after the Hamas military takeover in Gaza last June.
