One citizen was killed in the 10:30 a.m. suicide bombing in Dimona, which also killed the suicide bomber. A second citizen is in extremely critical condition. A police officer spotted a second suicide bomber several minutes later and shot and killed him, preventing a worse tragedy. Police are trying to neutralize his explosive charge.
At least five ambulances have arrived at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, approximately 40 minutes away but the closest medical facility. Two helicopters ferried those who were critically injured. The attack was the first ever in Dimona, a development town which is surrounded by a rapidly growing Bedouin population.
