Contrary to his promise during his campaign to head the Labor Party, Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced Sunday that he will remain in the government of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, despite the release of the final Winograd Report.

Members of Barak's Labor Party have increased their criticism of Barak's presence in the government.

Barak announced after the report was released that its findings were "grave," but that he needed time to consider his actions.
