The Chairman of the Knesset's State Control Committee, MK Zevulun Orlev (NU/NRP), said Wednesday that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert needs to follow the example of his former defense minister and the former IDF Chief of Staff, and resign.

"Winograd's verdict regarding failures and serious faults in the way the political and military tiers handled the war mean that Olmert has to follow Peretz and Halutz," he said.

"If Olmert evades personal responsibility, it is up to the Defense Minister to be good to his words and dismantle the government," Orlev added.
